By the early 1950’s, the number of students studying medicine had increased. To accommodate this change the university negotiated with Prince Henry’s Hospital and in November 1952, the first group of students were admitted to Prince Henry’s Hospital for clinical teaching. The overriding concern at the time was the introduction of a quota for entry into the medical course.
